Rhetoric held a central position in Ramus's teachings; writers such as Cicero demonstrated the correct use of logic which he considered had been forgotten or perverted by Aristotelian scholars. Rare, there is no copy of this edition listed in French libraries by CCFr, reflecting Ramus's troubled relationship with the authorities at the time (he was banned from teaching by François I in 1543).
