The home of the blizzard. London: William Heinemann, 1915. First edition, inscribed to the memory of Expedition member Robert Bage by his mother, 2 volumes, large 8vo (24.5 by 16.5cm.), numerous illustrations, 3 folding maps in pocket at end of vol.2, advertisement for an exhibition of Hurley's photographs at the Fine Art Society loosely inserted in vol.1, occasional spotting, original pictorial cloth, the binding somewhat worn and soiled

Note: The moving inscription, in both volumes, is as follows:
In memory of Robert Bage, Bachelor of Civil Engineering of the University of Melbourne, Australia. Member of the Mawson Australasian Antarctic Expedition 1911-1914. Lieutenant Royal Australian Engineers, Captain 3rd Field Company Engineers, First Division, Australian Imperial Force. Killed in action at Gallipoli May 7th 1915 aged 27 years, from his Mother to his fellow countrymen.
Also loosely inserted is a first day cover of Australian stamps celebrating Mawson's centenary in 1982.
