Note: This is the second English translation of the DE MUNDI SYSTEMATE and was originally intended to form the third part of the PRINCIPIA. The preface contains an extract from the beginning of the PRINCIPIA. Newton also points to the possibility of Terrestrial Tidal Effects, subsequently discovered by Michelson in 1919. He also postulates the existence of the planet Uranus which was first seen by Herschel in 1781.
