An archive of material of original illustrations in watercolour and pencil, c.1960's, majority signed, comprising a series of set and costume designs for the Edinburgh Ballet Theatre and the Edinburgh Grand Opera Group, majority mounted; plus a selection of photographs from the same period (quantity)

Note: Alan Alexander (1936-1996) dancer and artist. He studied at Edinburgh College of Art, winning several prizes and scholarships, then moving onto the Swedish Royal Opera House in Stockholm. He later returned to Edinburgh where he became a respected tutor at the ECA, at the same time producing designs for various theatre and dance companies across the city. Well known and loved throughout the Edinburgh art world, in his obituary it was written, "Edinburgh is made poorer by his loss."
