First collected edition, 4to, *6 A-Z4 AA-ZZ4 AAA-ZZZ4 &&&6 a-h4, blank &&&6, printer's device to title, woodcuts in text, library stamps, large stain to title causing various small holes [no text loss], light waterstaining towards rear, later speckled calf gilt, lower hinge splitting at head of backstrip, lacking free endpapers

First collected edition of Fracastoro's works, a landmark in the development of our knowledge of infectious disease. Fracastoro was the first to state the germ theory of infection, recognised typhus and suggested the contagiousness of tuberculosis.
