Description
London: Smith, Elder & Co., 1830. Folio, hand-coloured vignette on engraved title-apge and 36 hand-coloured engravings, contemporary red half morocco gilt, bookplates of Algernon Peckover and Alexander Peckover Doyle Penrose, a little rubbing to covers, small ownership signature in blue ink to flyleaf, some light spotting to endpapers, some minor soiling and spotting to title and a few leaves and plates [Abbey Travel 442]
Footnote
Provenance: Bookplates of the Peckovers of Bank (Peckover) House, Wisbech
Note: Seemingly the one volume edition produced by Smith, Elder & Co. in 1830 [see Abbey Travel 442, p.418], and therefore published without the two volume titles with vignettes. Rather, a single volume title exists with a vignette of a young woman.
