photograph album, 35 x 48cm, containing c.40 personal photographs of a British army officer's life in India, including a view of a Mosque and Afreedie Hills, Peshwar Road; a Kohat Agrrison cricket match with the album's compiler naming himself as the batsman; a view of the compiler's house in Abbottabad; several mountainous scenes and views of villages; two photographs of officers in the 1st Punjab Rifles: one group of Indian officers, and another showing British officers; a photograph of Takht-i-Suleiman peak; and many others, between 21 x 17cm and 25.5 x 31cm; with a few additional scenes of western landscapes; [also] 17 loose photographs of Indian and Pakistani scenes; 6 photographs from Portland in Dorset; 32 loose photographs of Egypt, Sudan and North Africa; and a collection of other holiday photographs; all albumen prints, some fading and a few chipped edges
