Liverpool: George Smith, 1827. 8vo, 24 hand-coloured plates, bound with the 24pp. explanatory booklet, green cloth gilt, original wrappers bound in, one plate loose, a little damage to upper wrapper and initial plate

Note: An unusual botanical work, no copy of this 1827 presumed first edition can be found in auction records, and only one copy (at Kew Libraries) is recorded on Jisc (Copac). A second edition was apparently issued in 1828, both editions with the comment to the upper wrapper: "The first fifty pounds arising from the sale of the work will be given to the Ladies Society for promoting the early education and improvement of the children of negroes, and of people of color in the British West Indies"
