Footnote
Provenance: From the collection of the Merchant and Anthroposophist Johannes Gottfried William Schröder (1870-1942).
Note: These photographs are of a particularly poignant nature as many of the landmarks and sceneries are now submerged under water due to the construction of the Three Gorges Dam. There are also professional photographs taken by Thomas Child (1841-1898), including several shots of the Peking Observatory.
