Part One only [all published], folio (414 x 257 mm.), title printed in red and black, engraved frontispiece, 4 double-page maps, 28 plates (of which 12 double page), illustrations in the text, woodcut initials, head and tail-pieces, modern quarter calf over marbled boards, vellum tips, new endpapers, lacks the large folding map of Asia, frontispiece, title and dedications lightly creased, light browning and spotting throughout, few leaves slightly frayed at edges with associated minor marginal tears and chips, some staining and darkening to margins, especially of two plates following page 136, [Wing 0166; Cox 1, 275]
