Footnote
Note; Hailed as a hero in England after the decimation of the Highland army at Culloden, Cumberland has ever since been despised in Scotland for his cruelty after the Battle when he ordered that "no quarter" be given. In England the flower "Sweet Willliam" was named after him. In Scotland a particularly nasty, smelly weed is known as "Stinking Billie". Letters signed by the Duke of Cumberland are of the greatest rarity.
