Description
Three albums, each 13 x 18cm, calligraphically inscribed to Arthur Sankey Reid's wife, Alice M. Reid, and entitled: "They and These: a Picture Book of Beasties, Bairns, Flowers, Folk and Happenings" containing 75 photographs (matte collodion?) printed directly onto the album leaves and captioned by hand, dated 1891-1904; "A Book of Glenalmond" containing 53 photographs printed directly onto the album leaves showing the local countryside and games at Glenalmond College, dated 1890-1903; "The Island of Eigg" containing 79 photographs depicting the geography and people of the Isle of Eigg, dated 1898-1901; the three albums uniformly bound in blue half morocco gilt over buckram, the smallest image measures 4 x 4cm, with two images often being printed on one leaf (3)
