Note: Rare. No copy of this edition recorded on ABPC. After the peace of Amiens in 1803 Cerfberr went to Constantinople and took service under Sultan Selim III as a colonel in the New Army, whereupon he adopted the name Ibrahim Mansur Effendi, converted to Islam and married a Turkish woman. In 1809 he returned to France after the revolt of the Janissaries; in 1813 he offered his services to Caimacam of Bosnia and afterwards to Ali Pasha.
