3 pp., grudgingly settling a debt claimed by the executors of Sir Francis Chantrey, sculptor, ‘I did not arrive in England from the conquest of command of the army of occupation in France till the close of the year 1818; and I do not recollect the removal of the column bases etc referred to. I have sat to Sir Francis Chantrey for some busts … I do not possess a bust of myself by Sir Francis Chantrey; and I conclude that I must have given it to King George 4th', signed ‘Wellington’.
