Oval salt print photograph of Edinburgh from Calton Hill, early 1850s, 26 x 19.5cm, mounted on card, very similar to oval print from c.1850 by Ross and Thomson showing the city from the opposite direction (see nationalgalleries.org), faded but still good detail, some marks to surface, mostly original retouching

Formerly owned by the Late Murray Mackinnon, a renowned collector of photography documenting Scottish life from the mid-19th to early-20th century.
