Description
all hand-coloured, heightened in gum arabic, approx. dimensions 37 x 55.5cm, toning. Comprising:
1, 2, & 3) Squatarola helvetica (grey plover), 3 copies, one with mild show-through on verso, one with sewing-holes along bottom edge, one unevenly trimmed along bottom edge; 4, 5 & 6) Aegialitis hiaticula (ringe plover), 3 copies, one with ink-stamp of Newcastle-upon-Tyne public library verso, two with sewing-holes along bottom edges, one of these spotted on verso; 7) Vanellus cristatus (lapwing), a couple of spots, sewing-holes along bottom edge; 8, 9 & 10) Charadrius pluvialis (golden plover), winter plumage, one slightly spotted and with sewing-holes and concomitant shallow chipping along bottom edge, one with sewing-holes along bottom edge and a few faint smudges to lower left corner, one with a few faint marginal smudges recto and library stamp verso; 11, 12, & 13); Charadrius pluvialis (golden plover), summer plumage, 3 copies, one slightly spotted and with sewing-holes along bottom edge, one with a few marginal smudges recto and ink-stamp verso; 14) Aegialophilus cantianus (Kentish plover), ink-stamp on verso; 15) Aegialitis minor (little ringed plover), ink-stamp on verso, shallow chipping along bottom edge; 16 & 17) Eudromias morinellus (Eurasian dotterel), 2 copies, one with ink-stamp and a few marks on verso, the other with sewing-holes and hints of adhesive along bottom edge
