Note: First edition, rare. The earliest English dental text-book and the first to describe (on p.11) the use of the microscope for the study of the minute structure of teeth. Thomas Berdmore (1740-1785) was Surgeon-Dentist to the King. The book is dedicated to Pennel Hawkins, Surgeon to the King. His pupil in 1765 was Robert Wooffendale, the first dentist to travel and practice in America.
