Footnote
Note: Edinburgh University held 'the Bazaar' to raise enough money to build a pavilion on their newly acquired athletics field. A special edition of the university magazine was published for the occasion and included a contribution from one of its well-known alumni, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The Field Bazaar was the first Sherlock Holmes story to be published following the detective's apparent demise at the Reichenbach Falls.
