Large folio, engraved title-page by Johann Durr after Christian Richter, printed title-page in red and black, engraved portrait of Ernst, Herzog zu Sachsen by Jacob Sandrart after Rudolph Werenfels, with 15 further preliminary plates of a full page coat of arms of the dedicatee, 12 portrait plates, and 2 double-page plates of a plan of Jerusalem and ariel view, 15 engraved plates (including divisional title-pages) and 7 double page plates (including maps and the Diet of Augsburg), contemporary blind stamped and roll tooled pigskin over wooden boards, engraved brass corner bosses and clasps, wear at head and tail, split across leather on lower board, front free endpapers spotted, lower free endpapers water stained, first front free endpaper copiously annotated, occasional marginalia in a contemporary hand, tear in p. 563 (no loss)
