Note: see Jacobs and Forster, '"Lost Books" and Publishing History', PBSA, September 1995, Appendix B, item 7.
A hack writer of racy accounts of low-life and scandalous subjects, "Captain" Alexander Smith (fl. 1714-26) published his The Court of Venus in 1716 in two volumes. This volume of the second part includes "An Alphabetical Key to both Volumes..." This volume is rare at auction with apparently only two sale records in the last forty years: in 2004 (Brett-Smith) and in 1966.
