Note: The theatrical memories of the actor John Billington and his wife Adeline. Written by a minor novelist called Byron Webber in the first decade of the twentieth century, covering the preceding fifty years or so, providing rich detail about the theatrical life of the period (principally at the Adelphi theatre), with fascinating anecdotes ranging from Adeline Billington's performance as Hamlet to Charles Dickens's involvement in the theatre.
