Sketches by Boz. London: John Macrone, 1836, first edition, 2 volumes, 12mo, 16 etched plates by George Cruikshank, with most of the internal flaws listed by W.E. Smith, pale yellow coated endpapers, original dark grayish olive green embossed leaf-patterned cloth, plates lightly damp-mottled, lacking protective tissue volume 1, corner of K9 vol.1 torn away and final leaf torn without loss, some light soiling & spotting, textblock of both volumes split, with some leaves detached, bindings damp-stained, rubbed at extremities, volume 1 lower joint partly split and with small hole to spine
