Note: First edition of this edition of the Qur'an in Leipzig., with notes by the oriental scholar Lodovico Marracci who had been responsible for the Padua edition of 1698 and who was a Professor at the Sapienza in Rome. The introductory chapters on the history of the Qur'an, the life of the Prophet and the synoposis of the Mohammedan faith are by Christianus Reineccius.
