"Corrected and enlarged" edition of a work criticizing adversely the new discoveries in anatomy, in particular Harvey's demonstration of the circulation of the blood. More generally the present work rejects a variety of common beliefs regarding physicians, diseases, diet and treatment, such as that unpleasant remedies should be avoided, that almost every complaint is due to exposure to cold, that gold boiled in broth will cure consumption, and that the linen of the sick should not be
changed.
