Note: In 1574 Reffeler published two editions: a folio in German, and the present, which is the first illustrated edition in Latin. Both contain numerous half-page woodcut portraits of the Doges of Venice and smaller cuts of their tombs, attributed to the illustrious German engraver Jöst Amman (1539-1591).
