Printed with the smallest of the grecs du roy and with the verses numbered for the first time, this is one of the first products of Robert Esteinne's new press at Geneva to where the printer had removed after facing increasing hostility from the Faculty of Theology in Paris who, in 1574, had condemned his entire corpus of biblical publications in Latin.
Provenance: Inherited by the vendor's family from the library of Lachlan McBean.
