The tables were purportedly part of a unique commission by Gio Ponti for the industrialist Petrone-Avallone Family in Milan in 1929.
These works bear similarity to a collection of works by Gio Ponti which came up for sale at Sothebys Gio Ponti: A Collection auction in Milan on 18 April 2005 (Lots 61-64).
