Beverley Pick began working as a design consultant for GEC in 1954, creating a new collection of contemporary light fittings. This floor lamp shares clear stylistic similarities with his other lighting designs for the company. A comparable example appears in The Studio Yearbook of Decorative Art, 1959–60.
