Mitsumasa Sugasawa was the former chief designer at Tendō Mokko.
After completing his studies at Chiba University’s Junior College of Technology in 1963, he joined the Japanese furniture manufacturer Tendō Mokko. In 1966 he travelled to Denmark to undertake further training at the Danish National Technical Institute, where he was introduced to Scandinavian methods of design and production. Upon returning to Japan, he spent much of his career in the development department at Tendō Mokko, working closely with architects and designers to provide technical expertise while also producing a number of designs of his own for the company.
