Lyon &amp; Turnbull were delighted with the results of the Autumn 2025 edition of Modern Made, our flagship London auction of 20th- and 21st-century art and design. Selling from the heart of London at the Mall Galleries, Mayfair, the sale achieved a total over £1.84 million and a selling rate of 88%. &nbsp; &nbsp;As ever, this edition of Modern Made brought together Modern and Contemporary Art with a strong focus on Modern British painting and sculpture, alongside pioneering Modern Design, Studio Ceramics and Contemporary Craft. The sale was lead by a wonderful work by Cedric Morris entitled 'The Blue Poppy', that after spirited bidding achieved £201,600 (inc premium), Other highlights included works by <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.lyonandturnbull.com/artists/finn-juhl">Finn Juhl</a>, a major vessel by <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.lyonandturnbull.com/artists/jennifer-lee">Jennifer Lee,</a> and an important early pot by <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.lyonandturnbull.com/artists/grayson-perry">Grayson Perry</a>, exhibited in his Stedelijk Museum retrospective prior to his Turner Prize win.This season we were especially honoured to present the collection of architects Gordon and Ursula Bowyer. Formed over six decades, their remarkable collection reflects both their friendships with leading artists and their commitment to post-war modernism. It encompassed works by Ben Nicholson, Paul Nash, Victor Pasmore, Keith Vaughan, Robert Adams and Reg Butler, alongside paintings by Robert Colquhoun and Robert MacBryde. Prints by Eric Ravilious, C.R.W. Nevinson, Edward Wadsworth, Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso also featured.Further highlights included textile and fabric designs by <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.lyonandturnbull.com/artists/jacqueline-groag">Jacqueline Groag</a>, and a rare unused section of Eduardo Paolozzi’s iconic tile mural for Tottenham Court Road underground station – the celebrated ‘moth’ symbolising Soho nightlife. &nbsp;
