Description
the plain lock with spring safety catch locking the narrow turned trigger, the long two stage barrel octagonal at the breech, struck with a fir-cone barrelsmith’s mark on the top flat with a stamped head within a shield (Augsburg), the full walnut stock inset with bone stringing running the length of the stock and decorating the large spherical butt, the barrel tang running to the ball butt, two staghorn plaques either side of the tang engraved with male and female crowned heads, forward ram rod pipe fore-end, and two side plates engraved with acanthus leaves steel tipped ramrod, lock retaining screw missing
