Description
Electronic movement, white dial with black Roman numerals, blued steel hands, pink gilt case within hinged red book form outer with Cartier La Joaillerie Au XXe Siecle titles in gilt. Dial signed Cartier Electronic, Made in France.

Provenance
Previously the property of Angela Danziger, wife of Harry Danziger, who with his brother, controlled a portion of the Cartier empire and introduced the world to the ‘Les Must De Cartier’ range.
Footnote
In the early 1970's, with the formation of ‘Les Must de Cartier’ the brand branched out from in-house made precious metal objects into more novelty items at affordable prices. This interesting and unusual book-form clock is hinged to open and close, hiding or revealing the dial.
