Footnote
Royal G. Robins was a successful New York watch importer who purchased the Waltham factory assets in 1857 and, with his brother and Daniel F. Appleton, owned and expanded Waltham, renaming it The American Waltham Watch Company in 1885. Royal G. Robins & Co, passed on ownership to their sons, who apparently liquidated their stock circa 1909.
