Description
Finely pierced and engraved Continental balance cock, plain steel three-arm balance, fusée chain going barrel, verge escapement, plain turned pillars, white enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer five minutes, decorative gilt hands, finely decorated hinged gold case. Movement signed, case stamped and numbered 2514.

The maker is most likely Jean Joseph Lieutard who was based in Saint-Germain, Paris. He became a master in 1764 and worked until 1789. The inner case is stamped with a Paris charge mark for gold (1768-1774)
