From the Private Collection of Lady Jacqueline Laker.
Jacqueline Laker was the fourth wife of the late Sir Freddie Laker, the British airlines entrepreneur. Freddie Laker founded Laker Airways in 1966 which revolutionised commercial airline travel with their transatlantic ‘Skytrain’ flights. Jacqueline Harvey married Sir Freddie in 1985. Laker had been a longstanding client of Charles de Temple and introduced his wife to the artist. Together they collaborated on many bespoke commissions and one-off creations.
Charles de Temple effectively vanished from the London jewellery scene around 1992. His presence whereabouts is unknown. This collection encapsulates a unique snapshot of the last working years of his career.
