Footnote
When Van Cleef & Arpels introduced the Alhambra collection in 1968, it initially only came in a yellow gold version with a hammered finish. By 1971 VCA was already diversifying the range by replacing the hammered quatrefoil with versions set with various hardstones.
Turquoise was introduced in the mid 1970s and is considered amongst collectors to one of the most sought after versions, particularly when the turquoise is paired with yellow gold. VCA discontinued the yellow gold and turquoise pairing in the Alhambra range in 2002. However, variants in white gold are still available at retail.
In 2024, VCA caused a sensation amongst Alhambra collectors by releasing a very limited yellow gold and turquoise selection which they reserved for only select VIP clients to access.
