Note: bluejohn is a fine ornamental fluor-spar, found only at Castleton, Derbyshire, the rarest natural formation in the British Isles. First discovered by the Romans, it is thought to have been named by John Kirk and Joseph Hall, who worked the mines in the 18th century.
