the three-quarter galleried reeded top above solid ebony strung roll front enclosing a fitted interior with sliding writing surface, above a frieze drawer and kneehole flanked by two columns of four graduated drawers, on bracket feet, the top drawer stamped ‘T Willson 68 Great Queen Street London’

Thomas Willson is entered in directories as a furniture broker and appraiser at 68 Great Queen Street between 1821 and 1829. He was also a cabinet maker, with the firm being established in 1818. The business was continued by his widow Mary from 1830 and his son Matthew from 1838, bearing the stamp 'M Willson'
