Hamilton & Inches, Edinburgh 1869, the deep dish with armorial and motto to centre, the rim with heavily embossed floral details and vacant shell cartouches to five points; together with a basket, Mappin & Webb, Sheffield 1899, with undulating shell border and swing handle (2)

The armorial bearings are possibly those of the family of Clapperton who resided at Annan in the County of Dumfriesshire at the end of the 18th Century and one of their descendants
