Footnote
Brook and Sons were well known silversmiths in Edinburgh and the most common silver associated with them is the Traprain Hoard and the copies they were commissioned to make and sell.
Another reproduction they made were the cups offered here. These cups copy the cup discovered in Mycenae by Heinrich Schliemann in 1876. He matched the cup to Homer's description in the Iliad as used by Nestor King of Pylos.
