Footnote:
The Worshipful Company of Haberdashers is one of the 'Great Twelve' Livery Companies with a history going back over 650 years. As with all the Livery Companies the office bearers have their various badges of office. Small brooches such as the one offered here tend to be for the wives of senior office bearers. They also tend to be private commissions from the husband. As typical with the Livery 'jewels' the main decoration is the Company Arms with small diamonds. The initials to the rear are untraced.
