Description
Lorne McKean, London 1975, cast by John Pinches, on behalf of The Horse Society; together with various items, a Kiddush cup, unmarked, applied wire work and onset lapis cabochons, simple stem, spreading base; a small glass pepperette, the glass body modelled as a seated cat, pull off silver head, well modelled; various flatware, glove stretchers; cigarette case etc

Lorne McKean (1939- ) was a student at the Royal Academy Schools and won several awards including; the Leverhume Scholarship; the Silver medal for sculpture and architecture; the Feodora Gleichen Scholarship. In 1969 she was elected a Member of the Society of Portrait Sculptors and in 1972 made a Fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. She was the official B.T. artist for the London 2012 Olympic Games. She sculpted HRH Prince Philip on his polo pony, which was the Queen's personal gift for her husband for their silver wedding
