There are several families bearing the name of Gardener or Gardiner who bear these arms, notably the Gardeners, of Northall and of Wallingham and Bishop’s Norton in the County of Lincolnshire, as well as the Gardiners, Baronets of Roche Court in the County of Southampton (today’s Hampshire). The baronetcy of Roche Court fell into extinction for want of a male heir upon the death of the 3rd and last baronet, Sir William Gardiner in 1779.
