gouache on paper heightened in gold, red and blue border with white margin lines, set within gardens at night time, depicting a bejewelled maiden in orange and dark red robes with gold detailing, the maiden holds a necklace in her left hand and a small floral decoration in her right hand, mounted, glazed and framed

Footnote
Wallace Dunlop was born in Madras and later served as district officer of Meerut during the 1857 First War of Independence. He recorded his experiences in Service and Adventure with the Khakee Ressalah; or, Meerut Volunteer Horse, during the Mutinies of 1857–58, published in London by Richard Bentley in 1858. He also authored Hunting in the Himalaya in 1860.
