We were delighted to present the Winter 2024 edition of our Islamic &amp; Indian Art auction which took place live online on Wednesday 11 December with viewing at our Connaught Street gallery in London.&nbsp;The early Islamic section of December 2024's auction is exemplified by a beautiful <a href="/auctions/islamic-and-indian-art-822/lot/2">Kufic Qur’an</a> page on vellum and a striking Fatimid rock-crystal necklace showing the extraordinary skill of rock crystal carving. The later Islamic section has a strong Ottoman presence with highlights including an Ottoman calligrapher’s chest, a fabulous velvet, a superb Iznik pottery tile and a fine Ottoman tombak ewer and basin.The Indian section of the sale features Select Property from Penicuik House, Midlothian, Scotland which comprises a rare group of Indo-Portuguese mother-of-pearl vessels, exquisite miniatures from the Stuart Cary Welch Collection, Rajasthani miniatures from the collection of the celebrated British author V.S.
