carved wood, with a pointed finial to one end and a distinct “pineapple” head formed by deep geometric lattice-carved motifs to the midsection, the shaft tapering to a rounded point with incised banding for ease of grip, the surface with a rich, dark patina overall and evidence of use and age-related wear
