Footnote
Note: Admiral George Brydges Rodney, 1st Baron Rodney ( 1718 - 1792), was a British naval officer from a distinguished, but poor background. He was most famous for his victory over the French at the Battle of the Saintes. He was a controversial figure, prone to nepotism and unscrupulousness in seeking prize money, but nonetheless famed for being a brilliant tactician. General Sir Henry Clinton (1730? - 1795), British army officer and politician, he sat in the House of Commons between 1772 and 1795, and was named Governor of Gibraltar but died before he could assume the post. He served during the American War of Independence, as the British Commander-in-Chief in North America.
