with a padded seat raised on square tapering legs, lacking castors, in original monogram print fabric, stencilled maker's mark to the underside

Provenance
Provenance: By family repute this stool is from Castle Newe in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire. It was a residence of a branch of the Clan Forbes family. The castle was demolished in 1927 and much of the stonework, sills and lintels were bought by the University of Aberdeen and used to build Elphinstone Hall at Kings College in Aberdeen.
