Description
the painted breakarch dial with Arabic numerals and five minute markers, the centre with subsidiary second dial and date aperture below, the spandrels with scenes of ladies in garden landscapes, the arch with a painted enamel moonphase, signed ‘Jn. Cook, Runcorn’, the line inlaid mahogany case surmounted by three turned urn finials, on a caddy top over a broken swan neck pediment, with reverse painted scrolling gilt panels centred by a panel of an eagle, the dial door flanked by free fluted columns, over a trunk with gothic arched door flanked by flat fluted columns, on a crossbanded square plinth base with canted angles and bracket feet, the twin train weight driven movement striking to a bell
