the painted breakarch dial with Roman numerals and Arabic five minute markers, the centre with subsidiary second and date dials, signed ‘J. Adamson, Anstruther’, the spandrels with fan corners and roses, the arch with a painted enamel moonphase, the mahogany case surmounted by three pointed finials, over a broken swan neck pediment, with relief carved foliate panels, the dial door flanked by brass mounted three quarter fluted columns, over a trunk with arched door flanked by quarter fluted columns, on a plinth base and bracket feet, the twin train weight driven movement striking to a bell
